What was the highlight of BRILLIANCE Hotel
Not that brilliant but it was ok
We stayed 2 nights here. And during our stay in Nagoya, we did not take public transport while in Nagoya, we walked to the city center or took a taxi to/from Nagoya Stations. We were able to leave our luggages before the check-in time. There are many power outlets in the room and there's a TV in the room. A small refrigerator is also available. Electric kettles are provided at the ground floor, I took one to my room. Hot water and water pressure were working well. Towels were absorbent (2 big and 2 small). Body gels, shampoo, conditioners, toothbrushes and toothpastes are provided in the room. Washing machine and dryer is also at the ground floor but I did not try using it. The staffs were trying to helpful but they could not hold a proper conversation in English, we did using a translator app. I still appreciate their efforts though.
The room is considerably small. The mattress was hard, and only 1 pillow per bed. Please consider giving 2 access cards when 2 guests are staying, we only got 1 card. As we stayed for 2 nights, we expected to have the room cleaned on the second day, but we noticed that the room was not cleaned, not sure if we have to specifically request for cleaning.

Good value for money and a good location.
The hotel is well located near a subway station with a variety of restaurants nearby.
I was told that they would come into my room to clean in a certain day but came on two different days. Nothing to hide but I just have a certain way I leave a room if I know people will be coming into it and have personal spaces issues.

It was ok
It was ok. You get what you pay for.
It was hard to walk from the Nagoya Station. Especially coming back, it was really far, confusing and I missed my bus. Also, it took some communication and there were limits on when I could come by and have them keep my suitcases. That service should be automatic. Also, I dislike (at all the hotels) that checkout is by 10 AM, and you can check in at 4 PM. You don't even get 24 hours!! If I show up at noon, the least they can do is hold my suitcases while I go do tourist stuff. They wanted to charge extra 1000 yen for early check-in. And the room could not have been smaller and still fit a bed; it was basically a bathroom and a bed. Speaking of beds, mine was really, really hard. I thought it might be just the box spring, or a wooden pallet. One front desk person spoke Ok English, but when I asked whether the water is potable, he said they have a machine where you can buy water, but Googling discovered all of Japan has good tap water. Hmmm. And the other gentleman spoke no English.
